Hey all!~
Well I've got to say that the Vivids collection available in the UK was a little disappointing, the colours were less "fun" and unique. Only the one in 910 Shocking coral attracted my attention. I went to boots earlier today and checked the line, it is called Colour Sensational Vivids in the UK too.
910 shocking coral is more wearable than the other two that I purchased earlier. It is a pinky coral colour, when I tried it on, it looked noticeably more of a pink shade than a coral. The formula and pigmentation is similar to 970 Electric Fuchsia and 980 Orange Edge. However, this lipstick did settle in the fine lines on my lips, it is quite noticeable if you see it up close. All in all, I still think it is a great lipstick.
I hope they will have more colous in the future =)

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids
Hey All!~
I purchased these two new lipsticks from Maybelline on my trip to New York last week. I am not really sure if these two colours are in the permanent line as it is labeled as limited edition on the casing. Well, if you have difficulty finding these, I got them from DuaneReade drugstore.
It is pretty rare to find such vibrant lip colours in the drugstore line. I barely own any super bold and bright lip colours before, and after watching several good reviews on these lipsticks I decided to give it a go. I do agree with the positive reviews on these lipsticks, they are super pigmented, hydrating, lasts a long time, does not emphasize the crack line on the lips (works if you do not have severe dry lips) and it does not bleed.
970, Electric Fuchsia:
Cool pinkish magenta
980, Orange Edge:
Cool Orange slanted towards red
Both colours are not neon bright, Electric Fuchsia is definitely more eye-catching than the other. I prefer to apply the lip colour directly from the bullet and soften the edges using my ring finger.

BeautySoClean
Hey all!
left: brush cleanser; right: cosmetic sanitizer mist |
It is really important to ensure that all your makeup applicators are clean before using it, sometimes washing them weekly is not enough. I have been using these two products since August 2012 and I personally feel that they are really effective. It help me to keep blemishes at bay, and makes me feel more at ease when I re-use my brushes to apply my makeup.
I usually spritz some cleanser on my brushes and some on a tissue, and gently swirl your brush bristles on the tissue until most of the makeup has been removed, it will dry really quickly. I do this on a daily basis before applying my makeup. Even so, I do wash my makeup brushes with soap and water on a weekly basis to ensure that they are thoroughly clean.
I use the cosmetic sanitizer mist every now and then on my powder makeup products, such as my compact face powder, eye shadow, blushers and bronzers. By keeping the makeup products clean, this will extend the lifespan of your makeup products.
Brush cleansers are now more common in the market, there are other brands such as Makeupforever and Sephora which sells them if you cannot get BeautySoClean brush cleanser.
There is a online store for the UK, US and Canada where you can purchase BeautySoClean products. In Singapore, it is available in certain Watsons store.

Battle of the spot correcting products
Hello all!
I have been changing my skin care regime since the end of last year as I feel that there are some changes as to "how well" certain skincare products worked on me.
Pimple scaring is one of the major major issue that I face for many years. As I grow older, I realize that my pimple scars are taking a longer time to fade off which annoys me a lot.
I used SK-II whitening spot specialist since the end of 2011 till December 2012 but personally I don't feel it improved my skin much during that period of time. It does help to speed up the process but not as much as I feel it should have. I switched to using Kiehl's about a month ago and am very happy with its results. I have been using this product together with Kiehl's over-night biological peel ( which i use twice a week and will do a review on it soon).
SK-II whitening spots specialist:
- no distinct fragrance
- feels thicker as compared to Kiehl's
- skin feels a little dry when using it especially during winter
To find out more: http://www.sk-ii.com.sg/en/products/whitening-spots-specialist.aspx?cat=2&subcat=spots-control
Kiehl's clearly corrective dark spot solutions:
- no distinct fragrance but its smell reminds me of Tea tree products
- is more "liquidity"
- does not cause skin to feel noticeably dry
To find out more: http://www.kiehls.co.uk/skin-care/by-category/serums/clearly-corrective-dark-spot-solution.aspx#BVRRContainer
As of now, I feel Kiehl's clearly corrective dark spot corrector is more worthwhile as it works better and is less expensive than SK-II.
This review is my personal opinion, it may work the same way or otherwise for others depending on your skin. =)

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration primer
Hey all!
I received a sample pack of this moisturizer when I purchased a magazine but I cannot remember which magazine it was from. The most important bit it that I really like this moisturizer. It is a water-based therefore your skin will absorb it real quickly, you do not have to wait for a long time for the moisturizer to dry before applying your makeup. Plus, it can double up as a primer if your skin is not too oily. I do still use a primer after applying this moisturizer as it helps to prevent my face from turning oily for a longer period of time than using either one of them on its own.
This moisturizer is scented but it will fade off once you have applied your foundation and concealer. There is no colour to it and it does not help to cover pores. A little goes a long way, about a pea size amount is enough for the whole face. The only thing that I dislike about this product is the packaging. The product in the container will become more 'unhygienic' over time where bacteria and germs from the air and fingers contaminate the product which may cause breakouts and stuff. All in all it is really worthwhile to use this especially when it cost only 5 pounds for 50ml of product.
I will recommend this product if you do not have very dry skin as it this may not be moisturizing enough for dry skin.

L'Occitane lipstick
Hello!
I bought this in France while shopping at L'Occitane because the packaging is so so uber pretty! The packaging is somewhat similar to Paul & Joe's lipstick. Sadly this lipstick is not sold in Singapore, but they do sell it in Taiwan, as for other Asian countries, that I'm not too sure.
Anyway I really enjoyed using this lipstick, it is a neutral colour and goes well with most makeup look. It is my to-go colour if I can't decide what to lipstick colour to wear. It is slightly glossy and is pretty sheer, like less opaque that Revlon's lip butter in peach parfait. It kept my lips moisturized the whole time while using it. After the lipstick colour wears off, it will not cause my lips to feel dry which is great. On the downside, it is not long lasting, you have to reapply it pretty often. Therefore, you could finish the entire lipstick in 1&1/2 months if you were to use and reapply every single day.
I would recommend this lipstick if you don't mind it being not a long wearing lipstick. They have it in other shades if you are interested in this product, I have added a link below =)
