Super simple spring time neutral eye look

Hi All!~

YES it is getting hotter and hotter in UK and it is finally SPRING going SUMMER!!!!!! So I trying to leave the heavy dark eye makeup look aside and try something softer =) Appologies for blur pictures that you may see below beause I only use a iphone4 camera for my blog currently. I not planning to purchase a good/ decent camera yet because I am not that kinna person who really take pictures often (because I am really lazy heh) so buying a camera kinna = wasting money, I rather buy shoes =D. However I may buy a good camera after I earn some $$ hopefully during the summer holidays =)

Products that I used on my eyes:
From top: Majolica Majoca Lash Expander Frame Plus mascara, 17 eyeshadow trio in Barely there, Urban decay primer in Original

From top: lash/brow comb, Sasa heat lash curler
On my cheeks:
Models Own powder blusher in Cheeky pink, Berry M Bronzer (the only colour avaliable)

On my lips:
LorealCause Rogue in Lovely Rose (no. 03)

Prep your eyes first by applying Urban decay eye primer so that your eyeshadow will last for a longer time. Apply the brown eyeshadow from the outercorners towards the inner 1/3 of your lid and blending it inwards a little. The brown colour gives an illusion of a deepers set eyes. This part may be a little tricky because if it is not done properly, it may look awarkward. Practise more and you will get it eventually =) After this it will be really simple.

Sorry for jumping but here is the finished look:

Next, apply the pink eye shadow on the rest of the lid area and blend it with the brown shadow, leaving at least 1/4 from the outer corners free from any pink shadow. In the area where you blend both brown and pink shadow, add a little of the cream coloured shadow to enhance the eye a little. It is optional to line your eyes, I skipped this step and just added 3 coats of mascara. After each coat of mascara, I usually comb my lashes so that the tendency of lashes clumping or having clumps on your lashes is lesser.

There are several other ways that you can applying your eyeshadow apart from the one I just did.

I may do a review on the model own blusher soon and prolly a few other blushers that I have used.

Swatch of Lovely Rose

From left: Dating Coral (305), Insolent Magenta (504), Sky Fit Heaven (611)

Sky Fit Heaven

Inslolent Magenta

Loreal Matte Magique Foudation:
- Loving:
   - texture, really smooth and easy to apply
   - able to retain its matte finish for a good number of hours, about 3-4 hours without needing to blot the oil
away but definately not 12 hours for me
   - it cause the skin to look and feel really really smooth, probably because it contain a lot of silicon in it
   - smooth out the pores a little
- Dislike:
   - relative sheer coverage, coverage is slightly less than the Boujour Healthy Mix gel foundation
   - foundation is not really buildable
   - range of colours is quite limited
   - it caked on the dry skin patches on the face, making the dry patches look more obvious

Lumi Magique highlighter:
- Loving:
   - it is not too shimmery
   - blends out pretty well
   - looks natural
 - Dislike:
    - not able to conceal under eye areas if you are planning to use it to do so

Cause Rogue:
- Loving:
   - Moisturising on the lips
   - nice and sheer on the lips
   - has a nice glossy look but does not feel sticky on the lips
-Dislike:
  - texture feels a bit heavy, able to feel you're wearing something on your lips
  - shade range is rather limited, it is either too light or too dark

Loreal nail colour (In a new packaging):

- Loving:
   - really pigmented, only needs 2 thin coats
   - dries pretty quickly
   - it has a flat and wide brush, making application much easier and quicker
   - has a nice glossy sheen after it dries, you could skip topcoat if you're lazy
- Dislike:
   - it is pretty pricy for this bottle of nail polish, I have used 1/5 of a bottle after using it twice

I am not too sure if the nail polish is similar to what it was in the past but it is a "new" product on its shelf and has tonnes of shades to choose from but not all colours are unique. Woops I kinna forgot to take a picture of the 'Dating Coral' coloured nail polish, I will be doing it soon and will upload the picture on this post. Basically I purchased all these because Spring is here and I wanted to try some new products, and they are having a 3 for 2 promotion =D

Baviphat Peach lip tint

 Hi All!~

Swatch of the lip balm

woops my hair..

Stuff that I used on my cheeks: Berry M matt bronzer, Stila convertable colour in poppy

Swatches: Berry M Bronzer (left), Stila convertable colour (right)

I have been using this lip product for slightly more than a year now and I am sooo loving this tinted lip balm. It is by far my favourite coloured lip balm which does not cost a bomb. I saw this product in watsons last december, retailing at sgd $7-8 based on my impression. Well I got to know this product through a friend whom helped me purchased this online from a korean makeup spree. It costs a little more when I bought it online like about sgd$9-10.

This balm feels like jelly when you touch it. It is a little different from regular lip balm, it feels like a mix between a lip balm, lip gloss and a lip tint. It smells AWESOME!~ I really love love love the smell of this balm. I use this when my lips feel really dry and I want some colour to my lips. Sometimes I use it before applying my lipstick so that it will moisturize my lips and even after my lipstick wears off, there will still be some lip colour on my lips.

What I like about this product:
- gives a really natural pink colour
- colour lasts like a lip stain even after the lip balm wears off
- really moisturizing and the moisture effect lasts for quite some time

What I don't really like about this product:
- like all lip glosses etc they may feel a little sticky but to me it's alright
- a little unhygienic because you have to use your fingers to apply this product

Boujour Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

Hi All!~

Colour  in no. 52

I know it looks kinna weird on the back of my hand but it is fine on my skin

I have been using this foundation for more than a month and I am pleased with it. I have combination skin type during winter so I have to use a slightly more hydrating foundation as compared to winter.

This foundation has a semi-matte finish which will not cause my skin look/ feel dry and it is able to last for a couple of hours without having to touch up with blotting powder. It has a light to medium coverage and it's able to cover up slight redness on my cheeks but not pimple scars. It does brighten up my complexion a little and does not emphasize dry areas on my skin. The formula is pretty lightweight and smells pleasant too. However, the foundation may oxidize a little after a few hours.

Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner

Hi All!

Swatches: Bourbon (above), Underground (below)

I had pretty high expectations when I got these eyeliners because I have read several reviews on it. Many have said that this eyeliner does not budge or smudge, waterproof, lasts on oily lids and other stuff. However, I am not a fan of this product because like all other pencil eyeliners available in the market, it is not "oil-proof". I have really oily lids so no liquid liners never last without smudging on the bottom lid. Well unless you have dry or normal skin, this will probably work well for you.

The pencil eyeliner has a soft creamy texture, so if you would like to have a sharp tip when lining your lids, you have to sharpen it all the time. After applying, it will dry a little, causing it to be slightly more long-wearing. Bourbon is a medium dark brown colour with some glitter particles in it. Underground is a light brown colour with a metallic sheen.

I only use this if I need to define my eyes a little when I am out for a short period of time. All in all, I will not really recommend this product for those who have more oily skin.  Iwould still stick with liquid eyeliner as they last the longest and do not smudge.

Mac Blush & Berry M bronzer

Hi All!~

Without blusher and bronzer

With bronzer, applied on the temples of the forehead, below the cheek bone and on the jawline

With a bit of blush and bronzer

Product used: Berry M natural dazzle bronzer (left), Mac sheertone powder blush in Coygirl (right)

In my opinion, blusher and bronzer are a inseparable pair that should be worn together. A bronzer is used to contour the face and A blush adds a bit of colour/ flush to the face. You could use a contouring powder instead of a bronzer too, but I prefer using bronzers. This Mac blush colour is pretty dark so it should be use sparingly. Well, I think that this mac blush colour suits cold weather better because cold weather = your cheeks will flush so it will look rather natural. I barely use this colour at all in Singapore because the colour look a bit heavy for the hot weather. I prefer to use a lighter shade of pink or coral blusher when in Singapore. I will be doing another review on the other blushers and bronzers that I have tried soon.

I bought this Berry M bronzer online from ASOS because it can't be found in Singapore (I think as I have never seen this brand in Singapore.. ever) I found out about this product after watching some reviews on bronzerssome time ago and one of them was on this product. According to the person ( I really forgot who that was) who did a review on bronzers recommended this product for people with fair/ fairer skin. I have issues with several bronzers, most of them are not really matte and quite a lot of them have this orangy tone after applying and blending. Orange tone bronzers look rather unatural in my perspective and it irritates me. I am really happy that this bronzer work out well and will probably stick to it till I can find something better in the future. I will add a link below for those who are interested in this product.

Tip: if you want to contour your face, it is preferable to do so with a brush that has a little sharp tip on the top, or a slanted angled brush. Avoid using kubuki brush unless you want to do something all over your face. Most importantly, find a brush that your are comfortable using to apply your makeup.
