sleek makeup I

Hi All!

Sleek is a UK cosmetic product, avaliable in some drugstores and on their website http://www.sleekmakeup.com. The quality of the makeup surpass what you may expect from its price. The eyeshadows, lip colour and blushes are very pigmented. They do have a large varirty of colours, however not all of them are wearable as several other palettes have very bright and funky colours which I am not really interested to test them out currently. Nevertheless, I may do so in the future if durgstores are having  discount on these items.

Most of the eyeshadows in the nude collection palette are matt colours. Only three of them have some from of shimmer in them, 6th colour on the 1st row, 1st colour on the second row and 4th colour on the second row. The amount of shimmer in the latter two colours is very minimal. From the great selection of colours, you could create a daytime smoky eye or a dark smokey eye very easily.

Amongst the two lip colour, I prefer Liqueur and wear it quite often. It is nude lipstick but it does not blend in with your skin colour and look like your lips have gone missing. Best worn if your have heavier eye makeup as it will bring more attention to your eyes.

Overall I do anticipate for more new products from sleek in the future and will definately buy from them again =)

Stila Lip Glaze

Hi All~!

Colours: Rasin (top), Grapefruit (centre), Seashell (bottom)

Swatches: Seashell (left), Grapefruit (centre), Rasin (right)

I just wanted to do a short review on Stila lip glaze. These three lip glaze comes together in a pack, thus the product is lesser (1.5ml per tube) that the full sized one and way cheaper too. Seashell is a nude colour with a hint of pink, Rasin is a maroonish berry colour, both have some fine gold particles in it. Grapefruit is light pink colour without any gold particles.

Glosses are fairly pigmrnted and have a very mild bubble gum fragrance in it, but you could still smell it if you wear it on your lip. I usually prefer wearing these glosses on top of other lip colour. Even though I love the colours, I may not want to purchase any lip glaze from stila as I do not really like the texture of the gloss due to its stickiness which I find very distracting. Plus the full size product is kind of expensive in my opinion.

Lipstick of the moment- Canmake Creamy Touch lipstick

Hi all!

When I was back in Singapore for a short period of time during my christmas vacation, I stocked up quite a lot of asian beauty products. Introducing~ Canmake creamy touch lipstick!

The first time I saw this product in the early part of January at Watsons, they had 3 shades for this collection.
It claims to give a semi-matt finish, it does not have any pearl finish nor glitter particles in them and keeps your lips hydrated.

The packaging is made of metal and feels pretty sturdy unlike other plastic lipstick packging.
Swatches on the back of my hand. Swatch on the left was done directly from the lipstick, Swatch on the right was after a little blending of the product.

Pretty heavy swatch on my lips

The colour that I purchased is 03, the brightest orange-reddish colour on display. Well the colour may seem quite unwearable on a daily basis for me at first sight and after swatching it on the back of my hand, I decided not to buy it even though I really like the packaging. As I was rubbing off the lip colour, it became a rather appealing orangy peach like colour and the texture feels nice too. Since it is a new product and they had on discount for S$16.90 instead of the usual price of S$19.90, I BOUGHT IT! The colour complements my skin well and I am loving it. It is pretty long wearing, even after eating and drinking, there will still be a hint of colour on my lips.It leaves a semi matte finish without feeling dry on the lips.

The two other colours avaliable: one in pastel pink colour and the other in pastel orange. I really like this lipstick and prolly may try the pastel orange when I am back in SG =)

Loreal colour infaillible

Hi all!

My First post will be on Loreal Infailible eyeshadows. There are several different colours, about 13 in total and I purchased three of thme, mainly the lighter shades. The shadows are claimed (by the maufacturer) to be waterproof and last up to 24 hours.
Name of colours: Time Resist White (left), Flashback Silver (centre), Goldmine (Right)

The back of the packaging.

The eyeshadow has a very soft powdery texture and are rather pigmented. The packaging are entirely plastic, it comes together with a black tab which compress the eyeshadow.

Swatches of the eyeshadows in sequence of how they were displayed in the pictures above.

All three colours have a metalic, pearl like finish with ultra fine giltter in it. Time Resist White is an off white colour, and Goldmine is a rather bright gold colour. Flashback Silver is not exactly silver, rather it is like a pastel purple shade.

In my opinion, they are best used with a sponge tip applicator or your fingers as it can transfer most of the product onto the lids more easily and quickly. Some how brushes do not pick up the product as easily I thought it should the first time when i tried it on my lids. I prefer applying the eyeshadow on the centre of my lids and the inner corners to enhance the overall look. The eyeshadow could be used on the entire lid too or any other ways you are comfortable with.

A problem with this eyeshadow is that if it is applied on the lower lid and a matte shadow is used to contour the upper lid area, the pigments will spread very quickly to the matte eyeshadow and your whole area would become glittery and stuff.

Even though I did not purchase the darker shades, I swatched most of them. The darker shades such as Buring black, Endless chocolate and Ethernal Black are quite worthwhile buying as they are very pigmented.

MY FIRST POST!

Hi all! This is my first post (like duh) and I am pretty nervous about it because I am afraid that I may write something wrongly. Anyway, a brief intro about me, I'm from Singapore, currently a Uni student studying in the UK. I am avid "fan" of makeup and I cannot leave the house without concealer, foudation, bronzer and defining my brows. Since I will be staying in UK most of the time and for the next couple of years, I can't do a lot of reviews on Asian beauty products, more frequently they may be other local or "Ang Moh" brand products. Reviews are done based on how well products work on me in the UK climate, so it is normal for others to have differring views on it. Hope you will find this blog useful and enjoy reading it!!

Love,
Chia Li
